BROWN PELICAN



Brown Pelicans are common along our eastern seacoast. I found the tropical Birds quite interesting to observe.

This fellow hunted in much the same fashion as a White Pelican would. He swam up to his prey, and engulfed it with a sideways snap of his neck and bill. Seldom if ever did he plunge-dive. I guess it helps if the water is crystal clear! Cancun, Mx. September-2002. CP-995, OpticZoom lens.
