Recently, I saw a video starring a Green Heron. The Bird had 'learned' to use pieces of bread as a lure to catch fish. It would skulk up to people that were feeding bread to Ducks, snatch a piece, then fly off. On a secluded part of the shoreline, the Bird would toss its bait into the water and wait. When a fish rose to take the bread, it would quickly be snapped up by the Green Heron. Amazing!!

Another guest at the resort spotted this skulky Heron in its hiding place. He was kind enough to call me over to take the shot. January 2004. Ocean Club Resort, Turks and Caicos, BWI. Canon EOS-10D, EF 100-400mm F4.5-5.6L IS USM Lens. ISO 400, Evaluative metering.
