An invasion of these Birds from the southern latitudes northward took place in July and August of 2001. Birds were reported from Massachusetts, NY, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan and Illinois. The province of Ontario in Canada also had a few of these flinthead visitors. By September, all reports of Stork sightings ceased.
